Thomas Noto Suoneto
WELCOME,
Thomas Noto is currently the Director of Special Projects and Institutional Relations at the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), the largest foreign policy group in Indonesia working to promote positive nationalism and smart internationalism.
During his time in this institution, He was successfully managing important projects such as CEO Breakfast Meetings with some key Indonesian Ministers and policymakers and also played an important role in the annual Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP), one of the biggest conferences in the country.
He is also the Secretary of China Policy Group, FPCI China Policy Group (CPG) is an informal circle of seating/former government officials, experts, academicians, and practitioners who engaged in regular discussion aiming to keep track on China-related issue. This policy group also contributes to a better understanding and analysis of China’s economic and political development and its foreign policies which is based on the growing importance of China in global politics, in ASEAN or Southeast Asia and particularly Indonesia. FPCI China Policy Group is also actively engaged with government and public to provide and get more insights, views and recommendations on Indonesia-China relations.

In relates to China Affairs, he was the recipient of Yenching Global Symposium Scholarship at Peking University and also the Project Officer of the Launching of Silk Road Community Building Initiative in Indonesia and the Indonesia-China NGOs Dialogues in 2019.
He was also one of the Indonesia-Korea Young Leaders 2019 and the Secretary of Asian Scholars and Experts Delegation to North Korea in 2018 and currently in charge of East Asian Program and Corporate Policy Brief Program under the FPCI institutional partnership department.
In 2019, He was selected the Project Officer of the Roundtable Forum on Korean Peninsula in cooperation with the Republic of Korea Mission to ASEAN in Indonesia and also the Conference Head of the Indonesia-Korea Conference (IKC) 2019 in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (South Korea). On the same year, He was in charge for the Indonesia’s Scholars and Expert visit to the Republic of China (Taiwan)

He obtained his Bachelor of International Relations Degree from Binus University in the studies of Multinational Corporations and East Asian Region. He was the recipient of several awards from the university during his study such as the Best Delegate and Speaker at the Asia-Europe Meeting in Singapore, Honorable Mention Delegate at the Thammasat University MUN in Bangkok and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) MUN in Manila, the Philippines and several prizes from writing, debate and speech competitions.
During his bachelor study, he has taken on a number of leadership positions, being selected as the first Secretary General of The Bina Nusantara International Relations Dialectic Society – a student organization founded to serve as a forum for discussion and debating topical issues of national and international concerns. In 2017, he was chosen as the President of Model ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in the Indonesian House of Representative. In the same year, he was elected as one of SCG Young Leaders and Board of Judges at the International Youth Leaders Forum (IYLF). Previously, he was the representative of the university to the Asia Pacific Model United Conference (AMUNC) in Perth, Australia.
